Dosage Requirements for Optimal Treatment

The required dosage of GO2™ varies depending on water quality and contamination levels. For most municipal and industrial wastewater systems, a GO2™ residual concentration of up to 5 ppm ensures adequate disinfection. For sulfide odor control, a minimum of 5.2 ppm of GO2™ is applied between pH 5-9 to oxidize 1 ppm of sulfide. For phenol destruction, 1.5 ppm GO2™ at pH below 8 or 3.3 ppm at pH above 10 is sufficient to oxidize 1 ppm phenol.

Advanced Odor Control Capabilities

GO2™ is non-reactive with ammonia and most nitrogen-containing compounds, allowing effective treatment at lower doses than chlorine. It destroys phenols, cyanides, and sulfides through oxidation, eliminating odors without forming colloidal sulfur. Additionally, GO2™ is effective in oxidizing iron and manganese compounds, making it a versatile solution for multiple water treatment challenges.

Efficient Dosing and Monitoring

GO2™ 3% chlorine dioxide is produced by adding two components to tap water and applied at points that ensure uniform mixing. The feed point should remain below water levels to prevent volatilization, and co-feeding with lime or powdered activated carbon should be avoided. Residual chlorine dioxide concentrations are measured using validated methods, including the DPD-Glycine and Amperometric methods outlined in the Standard Methods for the Examination of Water and Wastewater.
